Mountain biking has been a passion of mine since I threw my leg over my Fuji Sandblaster the first time. It wasn't long before I discovered the state forest three miles from my house. At the age of 13 I had acres to explore in Nassahegan State forest.

Since then a few bikes have come and gone, but one thing has remained constant, my love of riding. Last year, I spent training for a successful racing season. I decided to enter the Connecticut point series. After some initial struggle, I began to place top three in every race. This year, I am racing sport class, and improving on every race. I hope to be placing in the top 3 very soon.

People dont realize, but Connecticut is one of the most diverse places to ride in the east coast. The mountains here are tame, which allows for quick accents, followed by quick descents. Seldom is a rider forced to push his bike up a hill that is just too steep to ride. Here are some of my favorite places to ride:

Nassahegan State Forest - Burlington
One of the best places in state to ride. Winding trails, beautiful pines, and tough technical sections are this trail's trademarks. There is a large network of trails here, and two mountains (Taine and Johnnycake) to climb. Many hours of enjoyment can be found here.

MDC - West Hartford
Excellent trail if its been raining, and you want to get muddy. Theres a blue trail there that runs along the Metacomet ridge. MDC is a very well known biking place, and is fun to ride if you are solo, but don't want to be. People are generally friendly here and you can almost always latch onto another group.
